Role Summary/Purpose:
The Field Validation Team Leader manages a team dedicated to supporting Engineering and Product Line Management with the introduction of new Waukesha gas engine products and services. This role ensures new offerings are validated in real-world customer environments, delivering actionable feedback to optimize product performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the Field Validation Team focused on Waukesha engines.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute comprehensive field validation programs for new Waukesha products and services.
- In collaboration with Engineering and Product Line Managers, develop product validation strategies, field test plans, and acceptance criteria.
- Identify suitable field sites and customers for validation activities, ensuring representative operating conditions.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and operation of prototype or pre-release engines and systems at customer sites.
- Monitor and document engine performance, reliability, and customer feedback throughout the validation period.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in the field, coordinating with engineering teams for rapid resolution.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret field data to assess product readiness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and present detailed validation reports, including recommendations for product modifications or process improvements.
- Ensure all field trials comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Build strong relationships with customers and field partners to facilitate effective testing and feedback.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for validation activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Engineering or related field (or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a support or maintenance engineering position)
- Experience in product validation, field testing, or similar roles within industrial equipment or gas engines.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of Waukesha gas engine technology is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required (50% plus)
